Soccer Parenting Association

SAM Soccer and the Soccer Parenting Association today announce a partnership agreement by which all families associated with SAM Soccer will now receive free access to the educational content on the platform.

The Soccer Parent Resource Center seeks to improve and enhance the experience for youth soccer players by engaging and supporting the players’ parents on topics related to the Body, Mind, Coach, Parent, Next Level, and the Game as well as providing coach education related to establishing positive relationships with players and parents.

SAM Soccer, founded in 2005 by the Maryland Soccer Foundation (MSF), the owner/operator of the Maryland SoccerPlex & Discovery Sports Center. SAM provides superior developmental and educational soccer programs for over 4,000 area youth. SAM’s mission is a commitment to provide a positive soccer experience through a fun and safe environment, which will nurture and foster each young athlete’s character and mental and physical skills. We fully believe that partnering with the Soccer Parenting Association will help us continue to perform our mission.

According to the National Alliance of Youth Sports and reported in the Aspen Institute “State of Play” report, 70% of youths stop participating in organized sports by the age of 13.  While there are many reasons for this unfortunate trend, engaging parents in the game and providing them with education and guidance related to the youth soccer experience of their child is an important step towards reversing this trend.

“The investment SAM Soccer is making towards positively affecting the lives of the players and families associated with their club is commendable.  We are proud to work with SAM Soccer and are encouraged by their commitment to make a positive impact in their community through sport,” said Skye Eddy Bruce, Founder of the Soccer Parenting Association.

Said Gary Burke, SAM SELECT Manager, “Our goal within the SAM leagues is to provide constant guidance and support to foster an improved relationship between players, parents and coaches. We hope this initiative with Skye and Soccer Parent Resource Center helps build a great sideline environment and provides a positive playing experience to all players. We urge all coaches and parents to take advantage of this fantastic resource."
